Paris Round up by Gabriele Hackworthy

Style Me Romy j'adores Miss Gabriele Hackworthy, creative consultant and fashion reporter for 10TV. Gab had me highly amused this season at fashion week with her candid interviews with the creme de la creme of the fashion pack. From Editors Carine Roitfeld to Olivier Zahn, photographer Mario Sorrenti, Clemence Posey & Lou Doillon, she even had Kate Moss but forgot to press play on her new flip camera! Gab asks the most candid questions, getting the inside scoop on secret fashion crushes and survival tactics for the week from the likes of L'wen Scott, fashion's biggest stylist's Brana Wolf, Camille Bidat Waddington, Cathy Kasterine and Charlotte Stockdale. I couldnt get enough of the always eloquent Sarah Mower and hysterical journalist Hadley Freeman. It was Gab's raw funny antics that made her reports so compelling.... there was no 'September Issue' take-themselves-too-serious type of responses.

We Remember Lee McQueen

Courtesy of www.alexandermqueen.com , from their tribute film.
Today in Paris Alexander McQueen was scheduled to show his autumn/winter 2010 collection. I was lucky enough to film the late Lee McQueen at the launch party for LOVE magazine. Our line of questioning for the VogueTV film was love related: "Tell me about your first LOVE, what do you LOVE about fashion" etc. Lee had Jade Parfitt and I in stitches revealing the secret of his first love: "how dirty do you wanna get?" he teased. He was cheeky, down-to-earth and completely unguarded, a quality so rare in the fashion world. See the full video featuring Mcqueen's cheeky love story

Supermodel and presenter Jade Parfitt emailed me the day McQueen died, sharing her memories on working with the designer.

"I often walked for Lee and his shows were always really exciting and a real spectacle! It was also quite scary because they were such big shows and the pressure was really on to do a good job. I walked in many of his shows - I walked with one eye blind (with a white contact lens in) and one of the prop cars blew up as I walked past! In his infamous bumster collection I walked through water for him (literally!) and remember pouring water out of my shoes as I came off stage. I also had to 'freak out' for him in the insame asylum show - my outfit included two stuffed birds attached to my shoulders. That show was an odd experience as we couldn't see the audience or hear the music. I went on to shoot one of his first Givenchy campaigns with Steven Meisel. I always loved working for him. He was such a fascinating and talented designer and man. It is a tragic loss for me, his family and friends and the fashion industry as a whole.

The Harvest, Lovers virtual lookbook

I love the new mediums designers are adopting to show their collections - it really is exciting times. Here is Lover's short film which showcases the latest AW collection, instore as we speak.

We talked to the gorgeous actress Sophie Lowe after starring in The Harvest and wearing Lover...

"My favourite outfit in the film was the pink jumper, braces with high waisted pants. I loved the look; it was comfortable and casual... I cant wait to wear it this season. Lover has a great aesthetic, I was thrilled to work with them! Everyone I worked with had a ball on the shoot. It was a great team, it felt like we had all been friends for awhile. It was however, very amusing that the weather was so hot and I was in layers of winter clothes"

Grazie Grazia

I styled this week's fashion story for Australian Grazia. The clothes were romance inspired, a major trend from the SS10 collections. I did big knickers and sheer dresses, I've always loved mixing lingerie in with fashion, Christian Dior and Miu Miu did this perfectly last season.

Photographer Simon Lekias's favourite shot

Photographer, Simon Lekias & yes it's our Style Me Romy discovery Juliana from Chic.

" I found the environment totally serene and inspirational and without it the shoot wouldn't have been what it was. There was an amazing stillness that surrounded us and created an incredible atmosphere. It was lovely to get out of the city and see a different area, very refreshing. The clothes and mood were beautiful and I think that this is reflected in the photographs" Juliana, model.

My favourite things... Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr relaxes with Style Me Romy and reveals all of her favourite things...
All Photo's: Chris Colls for Style Me Romy
Hair & Makeup: Noni Smith
Miranda wears dress from The Vintage Clothing Shop
Prada personalised shoes (gold MK on sole), Kindle, Balenciaga sunglasses, Rolex Oyster Air King and a selection of Miranda's own bracelets
The only other person I know that has been given personalised shoes from Prada is Sarah Murdoch, it's a true fashion honour reserved for very few. Miranda says about her Kindle that she's no longer weighed down by the library of books she travels with. Her Kindle has saved the day.

Miranda wears dress from The Vintage Clothing Shop and Prada shoes
Miranda loves vintage clothing, we rummaged through her many suitcases and we found amazing pieces that she's collected throughout the years of travelling.
Prada bag with trinkets, David Austin roses from Flos Florum, Rose Quartz, Serge Lutens Datura Noir fragrance and Kora daily hand cream
The water ingredient used in Kora products is infused with the energy of love and healing from her favourite crystal, Rose Quartz. I love Miranda's dedication to all things spiritual, she has been loyal to her yoga ritual everyday for the last 10 years.
Shirt from a selection at David Jones and Bremont watch
Valentino bag, Balenciaga shoes, massage friend and the books 'The Magician's Way' and 'The Buddha in Daily Life'
Miranda admires Balenciaga's designer Nicolas Ghesquiere, tomorrow she will walk her second show in Paris, "Nicolas is incredibly talented and a genuine guy"

Miranda 'style bit' me and went and purchased the same Louis Vuitton diary downstairs at the Crown Towers in Melbourne (on the day of the shoot) and grabbed my Trenery brown leather belt and loved my gift to her, an Australia pendant from Pink Lou Lou.
Thank you to all the crew, we literally spent the day in bed with Miranda and it was a pleasure.

Gucci Access All Areas

Tim Kindler shoots behind the scenes at the Gucci show in Milan whilst PR and Advertising Manager for Gucci Australia, Sally Poole & I email each other about the show....

All Photo's: Tim Kindler

Sally: The collection is beautiful! WWD has written it up as Frida's most successful show since joining Gucci and I have to agree. Frida has drawn upon Gucci's golden era of the 70's and 90's but the look is very now.
Romy: Yes this does seem to be a common trend this season, designer's revisiting their finer moments but still managing to present a modern look.
S: Upclose and personal it is extremely luxurious, the craftsmanship is impeccable, there is a camel hair coat with removable knitted mink lining and the suede and nappa leather is so soft and delicious.
R: Pure decadence, I love that about Gucci....wish I was there!
S: The show was live streamed on Gucci facebook page.
R: Yes I watched it the technology these days is unbelievable.
S: And the show space had Wifi connection so you'll have to come next season so you can blog from the front line.
R: Glady
S: See you soon Ciao, Sal x

Four Australian models stole the show at Prada in Milan this week. The Sixties-inspired collection was a beautiful glance into Prada's past, bringing new meaning to the word lady. Here is what our Aussie models twittered and texted me from the show.....
